You are a detective, but are you ready to also become a vampire hunter?

"The client from the weird advert I found on the church grounds told me that a vampire was haunting him since he inherited a manor. Was he serious?"

Detective: Mr. Abronsius? I found your advertisement. Apparently your case is of... paranormal nature?

Alfred Abronsius: Oh my, yes. It all started when I inherited an old manor called Blackwood Estate from my late uncle. People said the hose was cursed: first, my uncle Anthony died, and then, his gardner Ferenz - the only other resident.

Alfred Abronsius: When I arrived at the place, terrible things started happening. Weird noises and whispers. Things changing location after I left them there. Lights going out at night. And when I thought nothing worse could happen, it appeared.

Alfred Abronsius: A vampire, with long fags and thirst for blood. My blood! It was chasing me through the mansion. I barely managed to get away with my life! Please, I'll pay you a lot!

Detective: Thank you for the offer, but I need to consider it. I'm a detective, not a vampire hunter.

Detective: I'm not exactly convinced we're really dealing with a vampire. Maybe it's a case for a doctor, not a detective. Perhaps speaking with the folks living around the manor will help me make up my mind.

If you fail:

Detective: Ugh, I don't think I should bother talking with Alfred face to face. He's a bit... weird, and I'm sure he made up the whole story.

If you win:

Detective: How perplexing! It seems not only Alfred Abronsius has seen the beast of the night, but also some neighbors as well. I better go and talk to him.

Suspect identification: Just Like In the Horror MoviesEdit

Detective: You were right. There really is a vampire somewhere around. Could you, uh, give me a description?

Alfred Abronsius: You don't know how a vampire looks like? Well, I'll tell you.

Solution: Istvan Wojnich

If you fail:

Detective: I guess I don't have the slightest idea how the vampire looks like. I must have missed something.

If you win:

Detective: Those long fangs... apparently he looks just like in the horror movies. Well, let's take a look around. Maybe he's someone close.

Crime scene search: The Hunt BeginsEdit

Detective: It's daylight, so I assume the vampire is well asleep. He's probably hiding somewhere near the mansion. I should find him, or any traces of existence.

When you enter the north garden:

Detective: There are two graves out here in the garden. It won't hurt to take a look at them.

If you examine the left grave:

Detective: The grave of Anthony Abronsius. He was the uncle of Alfred.

If you examine the right grave:

Detective: The grave of Ferenz Blasko. He was the gardner of the Blackwood Estate.

When you enter the shed:

Detective: My intuition lead me here... but this looks like a dead end. What did I miss? I need to search the room thoroughly.

When you examine the book on the shelving:

Detective: A hidden passage? I better take a look inside!

If you fail:

Detective: It's no use. Vampires probably have the ability to hide in the ground or transform into a bat and sleep in a hollowed tree.

If you win:

Detective: Fake teth? With protruding vampire fangs? I don't suppose this "count" has been eating too much candy... I need to figure out where a prop like this could come from.

City search: A Shop Full of HorrorsEdit

Detective: All right. I should find the origin of those teeth before nightfall.

The place where the teeth were made is:

  • not more than 1 from a theater
  • in the distance of 1 from canal
  • not more than 6 from a school
  • not more than 5 from a barber
  • more than 2 from restaurants
  • more than 1 from offices
  • more than 2 from clubs
  • On the map there are 3 theaters
  • On the map there are 3 offices

Solution: (4,1)

If you fail:

Detective: I just can't seem to find the origin of this curious prop.

If you win:

Detective: There's a shop selling used props just behind the theatre! I should wait for the vampire to shpw up.

Ferenz Blasko: Hi, I wanted to buy another gallon of fake bloo... wait a minute. Who are you? Are you a new clerk?

Detective: I'm a detective. And you are none other tan Ferenz Blasko, the allegedly dead gardner of the Blackwood Estate. Why the whole vampire act?

Ferenz Blasko: That manor was supposed to be mine! After old Mr. Abronsius'es death, I was certain he made me his heir. Instead, the whole fortune went to a long-forgotten nephew whom I never seen in my life!

Ferenz Blasko: That's why I wanted to scare that chicken-hearted brat off the estate. And I would've gotten away with it too, if it wasn't for you meddling gumshoe!

If you fail:

Detective: I'm sorry, Mr. Abronsius, but I'm not much of a vampire hunter. Have you tried calling the police, or a priest, maybe?

Alfred Abronsius: Oh, I tried, but it's no use! I better move back downtown. At least they don't have any bloodsuckers! Well, apart from investment bankers...

If you win:

Detective: The vampire, a.k.a. Ferenz Blasko, is in jail. With solid proof that he's the vampire, the cops had to act. And catching a living guy proved easier than hunting down a vampire, that's for sure.

Alfred Abronsius: Ha ha, you're right! I'm happy that's all over... Wait, what was that? I think I heard wolves howling in the woods...

Detective: Oh, look at the time. I need to hang up, OK? Bye!
